...HIGH SURF ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM CHST TUESDAY...
...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH WEDNESDAY
AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 7 to
9 feet in the surf zone. For the High Rip Current Risk, dangerous
  rip currents.

* WHERE...For the High Surf Advisory, north facing reefs. For the
High Rip Current Risk, north and east facing reefs.

* WHEN...For the High Surf Advisory, until 5 PM ChST Tuesday. For
the High Rip Current Risk, through Wednesday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and
localized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best
swimmers away from shore into deeper water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Trade-wind swell and a pulse of long-period
north-northeast swell are producing hazardous surf along north
facing reefs and a high risk of rip currents along north and
east facing reefs. This is expected to continue through Tuesday
afternoon for north facing reefs, with the high rip risk
continuing through at least Wednesday afternoon for east facing
  reefs.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Rip currents will be life threatening. Inexperienced swimmers
should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions.

If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don`t swim against
the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline.
If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.
