...HIGH SURF ADVISORY IN EFFECT FOR NORTH FACING REEFS UNTIL 4 PM
CHST MONDAY...
...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK IN EFFECT FOR NORTH FACING REEFS THROUGH
MONDAY AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 6 to 9
feet expected in the surf zone. For the High Rip Current Risk,
  dangerous rip currents expected.

* WHERE...North facing reefs of the Marianas.

* WHEN...Until 4 PM ChST Monday.

* IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized
beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away
  from shore into deeper water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...There is a pulse of north swell moving south
across the far northern Marianas associated with a decaying shear
line. Altimetry shows sea heights of 10 to 13 feet near Agrihan
northward to around 22N. Models shows the north swell arriving
tonight through Monday morning and will likely bring hazardous surf
and a high risk of rip currents for north facing reefs. The north
swell looks to move through and diminish quickly as it arrives.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to
dangerous surf conditions.

If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don`t swim against
the current. If able, swim in a direction following the
shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave
for help.
