The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Southern Madison County in western North Carolina...
  Buncombe County in western North Carolina...
  North central Haywood County in western North Carolina...
  South central Yancey County in western North Carolina...

* Until 1130 PM EST.

* At 1048 PM EST, a severe thunderstorm was located 15 miles west of
  Marshall, or 9 miles southwest of Hot Springs, moving east at 45
  mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind
           damage to trees and power lines.

* Locations impacted include...
  Downtown Asheville, Marshall, East Asheville, West Asheville, North
  Asheville, Black Mountain, Woodfin, Swannanoa, Weaverville, and
  Fairview In Buncombe County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
