Patchy dense fog has developed across the Blue Ridge Escarpment.
Visiblity can suddenly be reduced to under one-quarter mile when
encountering a fog bank, causing hazardous driving conditions.
Motorists traveling in the area this evening are urged to slow
down, leave plenty of space between vehicles, and use low-beam
headlights in fog.
