634 FNUS72 KGSP 081530 FWSGSP Spot Forecast for Water Wheel...US Forest Service National Weather Service Greenville-Spartanburg SC 1030 AM EST Wed Jan 8 2025 Forecast is based on ignition time of 0900 EST on January 09. If conditions become unrepresentative...contact the National Weather Service. .DISCUSSION... Quiet conditions for the duration of the forecast. Steady NW wind is expected on Thursday, but may become variable overnight Thursday night. Clouds will also increase after midnight Thursday night. Reasonably good mixing is expected Thursday afternoon, but not enough for really erratic fire behavior, as there should be a lingering weak inversion aloft to hold deeper mixing in check. Transport winds will be out of the NW but will become increasingly variable into the late evening and Thursday night. Friday will be less favorable, with precipitation expected to start as early as late morning, as sleet or snow. Winds will be light through much of the day, and if they do manage to pick up later on in the day, it almost certainly won`t be until after there`s steady precipitation falling. .THURSDAY...
