...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM EST THURSDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow and areas of blowing snow.
  Additional snow accumulations between 3 and 6 inches with locally
  higher amounts. Storm total accumulations will exceed one foot in
  a few locations. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.

* WHERE...Portions of southwest and west central Michigan.

* WHEN...Until 10 AM EST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and
  blowing snow. Whiteout conditions are expected and will make
  travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.

THURSDAY...

* WHAT...Lake effect snow developing overnight and continuing
  Thursday. New snow accumulations between 3 and 7 inches.

* WHERE...Allegan and Van Buren Counties.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM EST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Visibility and road conditions may change rapidly over
  short distances in lake effect snow. Travel could be very
  difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact Thursday morning
  commutes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Slow down and use caution while traveling.

During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally
heavy snow to dry weather just a few miles away. Visibilities can
also vary greatly. Be prepared for rapid changes in weather,
visibility, and road conditions.

  conditions could impact the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning
  commutes.
