...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM MST THIS
AFTERNOON...
...WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY MORNING THROUGH SATURDAY
MORNING...

* WHAT...For the Winter Storm Warning, heavy snow. Additional snow
  accumulations of 2 to 7 inches. For the Winter Storm Watch, heavy
  wet snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches
  possible.

* WHERE...Cheyenne, Kit Carson, and Yuma Counties.

* WHEN...For the Winter Storm Warning, until 5 PM MST this
  afternoon. For the Winter Storm Watch, from Friday morning through
  Saturday morning.

* IMPACTS...Roads, especially bridges and overpasses, will likely
  become slick and hazardous.  Travel could be very difficult. The
  hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday morning and evening
  commutes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Monitor the latest forecasts for updates on this situation.

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency. For road conditions in Kansas,
Nebraska, and Colorado call 511. Do not use GPS for alternate routes
or go around barricades.

Persons traveling on Interstate 70 will experience travel delays and
hazardous driving conditions. Use extreme caution if you must travel.

Severe winter weather conditions are either occurring or imminent
which will produce extreme hardship or loss of life for unprotected
livestock.

* IMPACTS...Roads, especially bridges and overpasses, will likely
  become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions. The
  hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday morning and evening
  commutes.

MST/ EARLY THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Wet snow. Additional snow accumulations of 1 to 2 inches.

* WHERE...In Kansas, Cheyenne County. In Nebraska, Dundy County.

* WHEN...Until 6 AM CST /5 AM MST/ early this morning.

* IMPACTS...Roads, especially bridges and overpasses, will likely
  become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Slow down and use caution while traveling. For road conditions in
Kansas, Nebraska, and Colorado call 511. Do not use GPS for
alternate routes or go around barricades.

Make sure you have an adequate supply of food. Check to ensure you
have an adequate supply of necessary medical supplies, such as
prescriptions and oxygen, through the duration of the storm. Check
furnaces and fuel levels. If travel is necessary make sure your car
is winterized and in good working order.

Persons traveling on Interstate 70 will experience travel delays and
hazardous driving conditions. Use extreme caution if you must travel.
