Regional Weather Summary for the High Plains

The Central High Plains observed increasing cloud cover overnight
as showers and weak storms impacted Southeast Colorado and
Southwest Kansas. As of 3:30 AM MDT (4:30 AM CDT), temperatures
ranged from 59 degrees in Norton, Kansas to 61 degrees in
Burlington, Colorado.

OUTLOOK... Cloud cover will linger over the area today keeping
high temperatures in the middle 70s to lower 80s. During the
afternoon to overnight hours, isolated to clusters of showers and
thunderstorms will develop over Eastern Colorado and eventually
move across the Tri-State area. Hazards include hail up to the
size of quarters and up to 60 mph wind gusts. Overnight lows will
be in the 60s tonight. Triple digit temperatures return to the
area on Monday with heat index values approaching 105 degrees east
of Highway 83. Daily afternoon and evening thunderstorms are possible through the
majority of the week. An isolated severe storm cannot be ruled
out on any given day.
