Regional Weather Summary for the High Plains

The Central High Plains region observed light rain and snow
overnight. At 1 am MT (2am CT) temperatures ranged from 34 degrees
in Wray, Colorado to 46 degrees in McCook, Nebraska.


OUTLOOK... A chilly and dreary day is forecast for the area as
rain showers are forecast to favor the eastern areas through the
day. Further west fog, drizzle and stratus is forecast to linger
keeping high temperatures across the area in the upper 30s to the
upper 40s. Another surge of colder air is forecast to move
through late this afternoon bringing a rain and snow mix to most
of the area along with breezy winds gusting to around 40 mph. Well
below normal temperatures are forecast tonight as they fall into
the low to mid 20s along with wind chills falling into the single
digits as the wind continues. Below normal temperatures are
forecast to continue Saturday before a warming trend begins Sunday
and last through the week.
