In 1999, a line of severe thunderstorms developed during the early morning hours across eastern Colorado and southwest Nebraska. The early morning severe storms produced hail up to ping pong ball size and strong winds. Severe thunderstorms also occurred during the late morning, early afternoon and evening hours across the region. Several weak tornadoes, along with hail up to baseball size, were reported across northwest Kansas with these later storms. $$
