...ON THIS DATE IN WEATHER HISTORY...

In 2007, an outbreak of 16 tornadoes occurred in the Tri-state
area. One tornado, rated EF2 on the Enhanced Fujita Scale, tracked
34 miles from Sherman county through much of Cheyenne County,
Kansas. This was the greatest number of tornadoes reported in any
March, and the most in a single day in the local area.
