...ON THIS DATE IN WEATHER HISTORY...

In 2007, strong southerly winds developed during the afternoon ahead
of a cold front. Although wind gusts were measured at 60 mph in
Burlington Colorado, there was no known damage.

In 2011, a late season tornado developed just southeast of Brewster
and tracked northeast at 50 mph. Fortunately there was no injuries,
but significant damage occurred to outbuildings, trees, utility
poles and irrigation pivots in the area. The tornado was rated EF1
by a National Weather Service survey team.
