...EXTREME COLD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 5 PM MST /6 PM CST/
THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING...
...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY WILL EXPIRE AT 9 AM MST /10 AM CST/ THIS
MORNING...

* WHAT...The Cold Weather Advisory for this morning will expire on
  time. Dangerously cold wind chills ranging from -15 to -30 degrees
  for the Extreme Cold Watch.

* WHERE...Portions of east central and northeast Colorado, northwest
  and west central Kansas, and southwest Nebraska.

* WHEN...From 5 PM MST /6 PM CST/ this afternoon through Tuesday
  morning.

* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 25 below zero
  could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.
  Frostbite and hypothermia may occur if unprotected skin is exposed
  to these temperatures. Wind chill values may fall to extremely
  dangerous levels. An extended period of freezing temperatures
  could cause ruptured water pipes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The Cold Weather Advisory has been allowed to
  expire on time as temperatures a quickly rising this morning and
  are forecasted to continue to do so. Monday night and Tuesday
  morning continue to look to be the coldest of this cold stretch.
  There still remains the potential for even colder than currently
  forecasted wind chills and temperatures Sunday night into Monday
  morning if cloud cover is less.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

To prevent water pipes from freezing; insulate or drain or allow
them to drip slowly.

Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates.

Make sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, and
unfrozen water.

Livestock need extra feed in severe and prolonged cold weather in
order to keep up body heat and maintain body condition

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.

THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Dangerously cold wind chills ranging 15 below to 30 below
  zero.

* WHERE...Portions of northwest and west central Kansas and
  southwest Nebraska.

* WHEN...From 6 PM CST this evening through Tuesday morning.

* IMPACTS...The cold wind chills as low as 15 below zero could
  result in hypothermia or frostbite if precautions are not taken.
  Frostbite and hypothermia may occur if unprotected skin is exposed
  to these temperatures. Wind chill values may fall to extremely
  dangerous levels. An extended period of freezing temperatures
  could cause ruptured water pipes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Monday night and Tuesday morning continue to
  look to be the coldest of this cold stretch. There still remains
  the potential for even colder than currently forecasted wind
  chills and temperatures Sunday night into Monday morning if cloud
