For eastern Utah and western Colorado, here is the latest weather
synopsis
A surge of deep subtropical moisture and the remnants of hurricane
Priscilla are bringing heavy rain to the region today and tomorrow that
will total over an inch of rain across much of eastern Utah and Western
Colorado with over three inches possible in the southern mountains. Flood
Watches are in effect for much of the Desert Southwest extending to the
north into Utah and southwestern Colorado through Saturday evening.
Rainfall rates in excess of in inch per hour and widespread amounts over 1
to 2 inches for this event could lead to excess runoff in many vulnerable
areas- including recent burn scars, slot canyons, steep terrain and
slickrock areas.
