A few brief spots of near-critical fire weather conditions are not out of the question this afternoon, mainly across portions of south central Nebraska. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday. Monday afternoon...the combination of gusty west-southwest winds and low relative humidity values will likely bring dangerous fire weather conditions to most of south central Nebraska, where a Red Flag Warning is in effect from noon through 8 PM Monday. Please refer to the Red Flag Warnings message for additional information. Elsewhere, lighter winds are expected, which should keep conditions in the elevated to near-critical range. Thursday afternoon...near-critical fire weather conditions will be possible across much of the outlook area. Friday and Saturday...a strong upper level low pressure system looks to cross the Central Plains, bringing the potential for rain, snow, and strong winds. Rain switches over to snow Friday night into Saturday, with at least some light snow accumulation possible. Gusty south winds on Friday switch to the northwest Friday night into Saturday...and for that Friday night and Saturday time frame, gusts near 40 to 45 MPH are not out of the question. There remains plenty of uncertainties in the exact details of this system, so be sure to stay up to date with the latest forecasts. && More information may be obtained at the following web page: https://www.weather.gov/hastings $$ Thies
