The National Weather Service in Hastings has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northeastern Merrick County in central Nebraska...
  Eastern Nance County in central Nebraska...
  Northeastern Polk County in east central Nebraska...

* Until 600 AM CDT Wednesday.

* At 1152 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 3 inches of rain have
  fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches are possible
  in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
  shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Fullerton, Genoa, Silver Creek and Belgrade.

This includes the following streams and drainages...
  Prairie Creek, Davis Creek, Beaver Creek, Skeedee Creek, Silver
  Creek, Clear Creek, Plum Creek, Timber Creek, Council Creek, Ash
  Creek, Cedar River, North Branch Big Blue River and Looking Glass
  Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
