.DISCUSSION...

KEY MESSAGES:
1) Scattered showers and thunderstorms are lifting north into
Canada this afternoon and most if not all should be out of the
CWA by about 9 pm.

2) Wednesday will feature more sunshine than today with warm to
hot conditions.

3) Another system will drop in Thursday bringing another round of
scattered showers and thunderstorms that lasts into Saturday.

WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW:
Rainshowers with isolated thunderstorms were seen lifting north
into Canada early this afternoon. All areas should be dry by
midnight as the upper disturbance also lifts to the north. A break
in the shower activity looks to come Wednesday for the area but an
upper low over British Columbia will drop into Montana Thursday
night to bring another extended period of showers that lasts into
Saturday evening, at least for the northern areas.

This upper low will help to knock temps down Friday into the 70s
for the CWA, and bring plenty of clouds with scattered showers. A
slow recovery then looks to take place as the upper low is
stubborn to drift from northeast Montana into south-central Canada
this weekend into early next week.

The northern zones stand to receive the most rainfall with this
next system with and qpf totals about 0.50" of rainfall with less
than a 0.10" over the southern zones.

The expected cool temperatures and the rather damp conditions are
not very typical for early August but it helping to relieve any
remaining drought conditions.

Ensembles then show a warm and dry period early next week, more
typical of this time of year as the weekend system moves out.

FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS:
