.DISCUSSION...

KEY MESSAGES:

- Through the middle of this week, expect less active weather with
  temperatures above normal.

- A strong low pressure system from the Pacific coast will favor
the return of strong thunderstorms this weekend.

WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW:

Today through Thursday, an area of weak high pressure will
approach from the west, keeping temperatures warmer than normal
and limiting precipitation coverage overall.

Beginning this weekend, a tightly-wound low pressure system will
move through the Pacific Northwest, directing a strong jet streak
toward Montana. Other severe weather parameters may combine to
support strong to severe thunderstorms. SPC has begun mentioning
this scenario in their extended outlook discussion.

FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS:

Used a more-reliable blend of hi-res models for the forecast for
Days 1-2. Kept NBM for the rest of the forecast.
