.DISCUSSION...
KEY MESSAGES:

 - Showers will exit the region today, with a few more possible
   Friday night. The remainder of the period will be mostly dry.

 - A Lake Wind Advisory is in effect through 6 PM today with gusty
   northwest wind.

WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW:
A vertically stacked/occluded low pressure system lifting
northeast with wrap-around rainfall over northeast Montana early
this morning. These showers will exit to the east this morning.
Also behind the low pressure, northwest winds will increase and a
Lake Wind Advisory is in effect through 6 pm today.

Another shortwave will push a cold front south of the Canadian
border on Friday, with a few showers again possible in the
evening. Behind the front, high pressure brings cooler
temperatures into the region for Saturday.

One more shortwave slides through the region on Monday with
showers generally across central Montana. Behind this wave, the
upper ridge rebounds with temperatures returning to above normal
levels.

FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS:

Blended NBM90 into winds as usual to bump up the wind speeds.
Remainder of the forecast stays with the NBM.

.AVIATION...
Occasional MVFR today with scattered showers moving east across
the region. Skies will clear to VFR through the afternoon behind
the showers. Mostly clear skies are expected tonight through
Friday.

.GGW WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES...
Lake Wind Advisory until 6 PM MDT this evening for Central and
Southeast Phillips-Central and Southern Valley-Garfield-McCone-
Petroleum.
