281 FXUS65 KGGW 040805 AFDGGW Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Glasgow MT 205 AM MDT Fri Apr 4 2025 .DISCUSSION... KEY MESSAGES: 1) A few flurries and light rain showers are expected through a portion of today. 2) Warmer weather and mainly dry conditions are expected this weekend into next week. WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW: Although skies are fairly clear, a quick moving disturbance will bring a low probability of flurries and light rain to the area through the mid afternoon hours. Little to no accumulation is expected with this activity. This weekend, upper ridging will begin building in across the Pacific shore with drier and warmer weather conditions reaching eastern Montana. Ensembles show temperatures eventually reaching into the 50s and 60s for highs next week. A couple of shortwave troughs are expected to move in on Monday night through Wednesday. There is low to moderate (20 to 40 percent) confidence of rain showers and a possible rumble of thunder with this activity. There is low confidence on accumulating precipitation occurring. FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS: Manually brought temperatures down north of HWY 2 into this morning due to mainly clear skies and light winds occurring. Also added PoPs manually to a portion of northeast Montana due to the CAMs agreeing on light precipitation chances today. && .AVIATION... LAST UPDATED: 0830Z FLIGHT CAT RANGE: VFR, with isolated MVFR. DISCUSSION: Although much of today will feature VFR conditions, there is low to moderate (30 percent) confidence of scattered flurries and light rain affecting TAF sites from 13Z to 20Z. There is a low probability of isolated MVFR ceilings occurring in precipitation.
