296 FXUS65 KGGW 142108 AFDGGW Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Glasgow MT 308 PM MDT Tue Oct 14 2025 .DISCUSSION... KEY MESSAGES: 1) The next round of significant rainfall is set to move in on Wednesday, continuing at times through at least early Friday. 2 Upper ridging may lead to a brief warm up in temperatures over the upcoming weekend. WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW: A deep Western U.S. trough and closed low centered over California will shift northeastward over the next couple of days with southwest flow aloft over eastern Montana. This system will lead to plenty of rainfall for the second half of the week, with much of the region expecting in excess of a half inch between Wednesday and Friday. The low will become vertically stacked and shift northeastward over the weekend as an upper ridge becomes established over the Pacific Northwest. Look for drier and warmer conditions as a result. FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS: NBM was largely followed this cycle with little deviation. High confidence exists with excellent model agreement on cool and wet weather for the second half of this week, with drier and warmer weather set for the weekend. && .AVIATION... LAST UPDATE: Tuesday October 14 at 2100Z FLIGHT CAT RANGE: MVFR - VFR DISCUSSION: A range in MVFR to VFR ceilings are expected at times tonight and Wednesday as the next system approaches with a new round of steady rainfall.
