.DISCUSSION...
905 am Update: Isolated showers dropping southeast across
northeast Montana will be exiting shortly. Windy conditions are
expected by this afternoon and Lake Wind Advisory looks good.
Forecast was in good shape but refined pops a bit. TFJ

KEY MESSAGES:

- Winds increase today, reaching Lake Wind criteria this
afternoon. A Lake Wind Advisory is in effect.

- A few showers will move through northeast Montana this morning.

- Mostly dry conditions thereafter with a warming trend into
Wednesday, then temps cool back down a few degrees into next
weekend. There will also be a slight chance of showers.

WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW:

An upper trough dropping through central Canada, puts northeast
Montana in a northwest flow this morning. Frontal passage this
morning with a few showers swinging through the region, will be
followed by increasing winds with weak cold air advection. Winds
expected to be strong enough for a Lake Wind Advisory this
afternoon.

Upper flow flattens out through midweek with another trough
dropping into western Canada. This will push temperatures up
Wednesday ahead of the trough passing into Saskatchewan. Upper
flow then begins to turn slightly more southwest and a weak
connection to the monsoonal moisture develops by the end of the
week. Temperatures drop back to slightly below normal and
thunderstorm chances will increase.

FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS:

Mainly followed NBM but did blend other data for pops this
morning, added NBM90 into the winds today, and included smoke
potential from the HRRRsmoke model for tonight.
