Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Fort Worth TX
1237 AM CDT Wed Oct 8 2025

...New Short Term, Long Term, Aviation...

.KEY MESSAGES...

- Isolated rain showers are possible east of I-35 today with
  coverage of 10% or less.

- Warm and mostly dry weather will continue into next week with
  temperatures 5 to 10 degrees above normal.

&&

.SHORT TERM... /NEW/
/Through Tonight/

A stalled frontal boundary draped through the forecast area from
southwest to northeast may support additional diurnally driven
rain shower activity this afternoon with coverage of 10% or less,
and this will be most likely across East Texas where pooled
moisture remains. Otherwise, the presence of anomalously strong
mid-level heights will maintain above normal temperatures with
highs in the upper 80s to mid 90s.

.LONG TERM... /NEW/
/Thursday Onward/

Low-level wind fields return to ESE during the second half of the
workweek which will result in a fetch of drier air and lower
dewpoints, so despite persistent above normal temperatures, low
humidity will result in fairly pleasant conditions with overnight
lows still falling into the 60s and even upper 50s. Lower RH may
result in an uptick in wildfire activity heading into the
weekend, especially given the recent dry spell and increasingly
available cured fuels. Southern plains ridging will prevail into
next week with rain chances remaining below 10% through the entire
extended forecast period. There is no sign of a significant
pattern change in the next ~10 days.

&&

.AVIATION... /NEW/
/06z TAFs/

VFR will prevail through the period with light northeast winds of
5-10 kts. A few rain showers are possible east of D10 this
afternoon, but no precip is forecast at any of the TAF sites
themselves.
