359 FNUS63 KFSD 110940 RFDFSD Rangeland Fire Danger Statement National Weather Service Sioux Falls SD 440 AM CDT Sat Oct 11 2025 .DISCUSSION... Elevated fire weather is expected today due to breezy southerly winds of 30-40 mph. The strongest winds will be west of I-29, which will be a bit offset from the lowest relative humidity values (around 30%) located along and east of I-29. Still, there will be enough wind combined with recent agricultural activity to lead to increased fire weather concerns for today. There will be a 20-40% chance of showers today as well, but only light amounts are expected as rain may struggle to make it to the ground at times. A cold front arrives on Sunday, and temperatures will heat up ahead of it with highs expected to be in the mid-70s to low-80s. Winds will stay elevated (30-40 mph), but better rain chances may help limit the fire weather potential. With that said, elevated fire danger remains possible despite the rain chances primarily due to the winds and warmer temperatures.
