402 FNUS63 KFSD 100807 RFDFSD Rangeland Fire Danger Statement National Weather Service Sioux Falls SD 307 AM CDT Thu Oct 10 2024 .DISCUSSION... Warm and dry conditions continue, with afternoon highs today in the mid to upper 80s across the region. Most areas will see relative humidity values less than 30%, with pockets of less than 25%. Winds will be marginally breezy with gusts up to 20 mph. Max grassland fire danger index will climb to the high category for most areas. However, since winds are not expected to be consistently strong, fire danger for this afternoon will remain elevated, but sub- critical. Friday will see a cold front move through during the morning hours, bringing north-northeasterly winds to the region. While winds will be sustained in the teens and gusts 20 to 25 mph, minimum relative humidity values will only fall into the 30 to 40 percent range, keeping the GFDI in the moderate and high category across the region.
