424 FNUS63 KFSD 282027 RFDFSD Rangeland Fire Danger Statement National Weather Service Sioux Falls SD 327 PM CDT Sat Sep 28 2024 .DISCUSSION... Sunday will be warm with temperatures in the 80s to 90s, with the warmest temperatures to the west. Minimum relative humidity is expected to fall into the teens and 20 percents from roughly the James River west. Winds are expected be out of the south increasing to 15-20 mph with occasional gusts up to 30 mph, again with the highest winds to the west. This will result in near to critical fire conditions for most of central South Dakota. Monday a cold front will move through the area turning winds to the northwest with increasing gusts to 30-40 mph. Elevated fire conditions are expected for areas west of I-29, with areas along and west of the James River reaching near to critical fire conditions. There is currently no indication of significant rainfall now through the end of next week. Fire concerns will continue to increase with warm temperatures and drying fields and ditches.
