This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northwest Iowa, west central
Iowa, southwest Minnesota, northeast Nebraska, central South
Dakota, east central South Dakota, south central South Dakota and
southeast South Dakota.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

A few thunderstorms may drift into areas west of the James River
Valley toward central South Dakota today. Severe weather is not
expected, but any storms could produce lightning that may impact
outdoor activity.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.

Monday will bring a Level 2 of 5 risk of strong to severe storms to
parts of central and southeast South Dakota, especially west of U.S.
Highway 81 during the late afternoon and evening. Large hail to the
size of golf balls and damaging wind gusts to 70 mph are the primary
threats, though an isolated tornado is also possible. Storms are
expected to weaken as they move east overnight.

Additional storms are possible later in the week Thursday into
Friday. While details are uncertain, a few strong to severe storms
may develop, so continue to monitor your local forecast for updates.
