This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northwest Iowa, west central
Iowa, southwest Minnesota, northeast Nebraska, central South
Dakota, east central South Dakota, south central South Dakota and
southeast South Dakota.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop in northwest Iowa
and southwest Minnesota this afternoon. Severe weather is not
expected, but isolated weak funnels cannot be ruled out in the
developing stage of showers.

Additional showers and storms are expected along a cold front moving
into areas near and north of I-90 this evening. Isolated stronger
gusts in excess of 40 mph will be possible, but the risk for severe
storms is low.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.

Stronger west-northwest winds develop behind the cold front on
Sunday. Gusts of 30 to 40 mph are expected by Sunday afternoon,
strongest in areas west of I-29.

The northwest winds Saturday night and Sunday may bring areas of
wildfire smoke back into the region by Sunday morning. Those with
sensitivity to reduced air quality will want to monitor air quality
forecasts and adjust outdoor plans accordingly.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is not expected at this time.
