.DISCUSSION...

A front will sweep across the area on Saturday, bringing
northwesterly winds to the region. At times, winds may gust over
30 mph, with 40+ mph winds in the Missouri River valley. By late
morning, a narrow band of light rain will begin to move southeast,
exiting northwest Iowa in the late afternoon. A light wetting
rain will be possible with this front, but total precipitation
will likely remain under 0.10 inches.

A lower wind day is expected Sunday before winds increase once
again by Monday morning. Through the day on Monday, and especially
by Monday afternoon 35 to 45 mph wind gusts may be possible.
While relative humidity values remain well above critical
thresholds, wildfire danger will increase with high to very high
GFDI values expected.

Winds may continue to remain strong through Tuesday, keeping an
elevated fire danger risk in the region.
