...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT PORTIONS OF APACHE COUNTY NEAR
LYMAN LAKE STATE PARK THROUGH 215 PM MST...

At 144 PM MST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Greens Peak, or 10 miles west of Springerville, moving north at 20
mph, towards Lyman Lake State Park.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph, pea size hail, and cloud-
         to-ground lightning.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible. Gusty winds and lightning can be dangerous for
         those recreating on or near Lyman Lake.

Locations impacted include...
Greens Peak, South Fork Recreation Area, Greer Lakes Recreation Area,
Lyman Lake, River Reservoir, Lyman Lake State Park, Sunrise Lake,
Springerville, and Eagar.

This includes the following highways...
 State Route 373 between mile markers 386 and 390.
 State Route 260 between mile markers 380 and 393.
 Highway 180 191 between mile markers 378 and 394.
 Highway 60 between mile markers 370 and 385.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

If on or near Lyman Lake, get out of the water and move indoors or
inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles
from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not
be caught on the water in a thunderstorm. Gusty winds can create
dangerous conditions to boaters on the lake.
