.DISCUSSION...

A few scattered to isolated showers remain possible today through
Sunday afternoon. Any accumulations will likely be less than 0.25"
through the period, though an isolated 0.5" could be possible at
higher elevations. Given recent rainfall, there is a marginal risk
for flash flooding in the far northern mountains in Gilmer, Fannin,
Union, and Towns counties. Winds generally out of the Southwest at 7
to 12 mph. Gusts up to 20 mph are possible especially at higher
elevations. Winds may be variable in valleys due to terrain. Winds
remain south to southwesterly through the weekend and slowly tapper off
through Monday morning (peaking each afternoon and weakening
overnight). Broken to overcast skies. No thunder expected. Most
creeks and streams are currently below action levels. Stay aware of any
changes in these. They may be quick to react with
additional rainfall.
