401 FNUS72 KFFC 291304 FWSFFC Spot Forecast for 2024 Star Spangled Classic Fireworks...Athens-Clarke County National Weather Service Peachtree City GA 904 AM EDT Sat Jun 29 2024 Forecast is based on forecast start time of 1000 EDT on June 29. If conditions become unrepresentative...contact the National Weather Service. .DISCUSSION... Good morning Alex, Thunderstorm chances will gradually increase through the day and into the afternoon. Unfortunately, storms will be scattered in nature and fueled by daytime heating rather than a front, so confidence in whether or not the festival will be impacted is low at this time. While severe weather is not expected, any thunderstorms that do form will likely contain frequent lightning and strong gusty winds. We`ll keep an eye on the radar and let you know if we see anything heading your way. Beside thunderstorms, heat will likely be a factor this afternoon as the festival starts. Temps will be in the low 90s, but heat index values are expected to rise into triple digits. Temps will gradually ease as the sun sets. Please let us know if you have any additional questions of concerns and we`ll be happy to help in any way we can. Have a great festival! .REST OF TODAY...
