No hazardous fire weather conditions are expected at this time.
Relative humidity values will remain outside of critical thresholds.
An advancing cold front will bring widespread rain and thunderstorms
to north Georgia this afternoon, which will advance into central
Georgia overnight and into Monday morning. A few thunderstorms could
become strong to severe, especially this afternoon and tonight.
Severe storms that occur will be capable of damaging wind gusts,
enough to cause tree damage across the districts. Forecast rainfall
totals through Monday will range from 2-3 inches, with locally
higher amounts as high as 4 inches in portions of west-central
Georgia.
Warm and humid conditions are expected across the forecast area
today, with high temperatures in the 70s to low 80s to the north of
I-85 and mid to upper 80s to the south. Minimum RH values this
afternoon will range from 50-70 percent north of a rough line from
Americus to Macon to Athens, and from 35-50 percent to the south and
east of this line. Winds today will be SW at 10-15 mph with gusts
between 20-25 mph. Minimum RH values on Monday will range from
around 60-75 percent, with slightly lower values in far northwest
Georgia. Winds on Monday will be primarily 8-12 mph, shifting to NW
behind the cold front.
