.DISCUSSION...
No hazardous fire weather conditions are expected at this time.
Winds and relative humidity values will remain outside of critical
thresholds.
The influence of surface high pressure settling into the Southeast
will keep conditions dry across the area for the remainder of the
day and into the weekend. Minimum RH values this afternoon will
range from 35 percent in portions of south-central Georgia to as
high as 45 percent in the far northern tier. Winds this afternoon
will be NW at 10-15 mph with gusts of 20-25 mph. Winds will be
strongest in the higher terrain in far northeast Georgia. Scattered
to broken mid-level clouds will be possible in far northwest Georgia
overnight into Saturday morning, diminishing by mid-morning. Minimum
RH values will be slightly higher on Saturday, primarily ranging
from 40-50 percent. Furthermore, winds on Saturday are expected to
be lighter than today. Winds will be NW again throughout the day,
peaking at 6-10 mph in the afternoon with occasional gusts up to 15
mph. Mixing heights this afternoon will primarily range from 3500-
4500 ft, then peak between 2000-3000 ft on Saturday afternoon.
