.DISCUSSION...
No hazardous fire weather conditions are expected at this time, however,
the forecast continues to be monitored for dangerous conditions Thursday.
A cold front will move through the area overnight tonight, and
while rainfall amounts will be limited, the area will see an
increase in wind gusts and speeds and a return to drier RH values
by Friday.
The precipitation accompanying the front is not expected to be a
wetting rain, and with the recent 10-hr fuels nearing or at critical
thresholds, it may be necessary for a Fire Danger Statement to
be issued for Thursday. The overnight shift will need to reevaluate
conditions to make a determination.
Min RH values on Thursday will be in the upper 20s to mid 30s over
north Georgia, with higher values across central Georgia. These will
drop back into the mid 20s to near 30 on Friday. Gusty winds will
be northwesterly at 20-30mph Thursday over the northern half of the
state. Gustier conditions are possible in the higher elevations.
Northwesterly winds continue Friday, but at lower speeds.
