...The National Weather Service in Peachtree City GA has issued a
Flood Warning for the following rivers in Georgia...

  Oconee River near Penfield affecting Oglethorpe, Oconee and
  Greene Counties.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY MORNING TO THURSDAY
AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Oconee River near Penfield.

* WHEN...From Wednesday morning to Thursday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 13 feet, Flood Stage is reached. Minor flooding
  occurs along the river upstream and downstream from the gage on
  the Georgia Highway 15 bridge. The right bank begins to overflow
  into agricultural land and pastures with a foot or two of water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 3:00 PM EDT Tuesday the stage was 10.5 feet and rising.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    Wednesday morning to a crest of 13.7 feet Wednesday evening.
    It will then fall below flood stage Thursday morning.
  - Flood stage is 13 feet.
