The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Central Chattahoochee County in west central Georgia...
  Southern Muscogee County in west central Georgia...

* Until 1230 AM EDT.

* At 935 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain
  have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are
  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
  to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Columbus, Cusseta, North Fort Benning, Fort Benning/Lawson Army
  Air Fld, Sand Hill, Vista Terrace, Benning Hills, Custer Road
  Terrace, Battle Park, Benning Park, Saint Marys Hills, Carter
  Acres, Jamestown/South Fort Benning, Kenwood, Edgewood, Highland
  Park, Eelbeck/West Fort Benning and Avondale.

This includes the following streams and drainages...
  Spring Creek, Halloca Creek, Hichitee Creek, Wolf Creek, Pine Knot
  Creek, Tiger Creek, Dozier Creek, Bull Creek, Ochillee Creek,
  Steam Mill Creek, Chattahoochee River, Spring Branch, Lindsey
  Creek, Randall Creek, Little Pine Knot Creek, Lemert Creek, Cooper
  Creek and Upatoi Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
