.UPDATE...
Issued at 856 PM EDT Sat Oct 11 2025

At the time of this writing, there are a few light radar returns
in portions of east-central Georgia, though any precipitation that

minor adjustments have been made to the near term forecast given
the latest observations.

.SHORT TERM...
(This afternoon through Sunday)
Issued at 856 PM EDT Sat Oct 11 2025

This Evening & Tonight:

Quiet weather will occur in most of north and central Georgia during
this period, despite the strong coastal low spinning along the
Georgia Coastline. Most of the region will feature fair skies, low
humidity and mild temperatures. Due to the low humidity temperatures
will fall quickly this evening. By Sunday morning the mountains and
portions of northwest Georgia should reach the upper 40s. The
Atlanta Metro and central Georgia should remain in the 50s
overnight. A few rain showers are possible in east central Georgia,
though rainfall won`t be widespread due to a lack of appreciable
forcing mechanisms.

Sunday:

As the coastal low moves into the Carolinas on Sunday the model
guidance suggests that weak shortwave will rotate around the
backside of the low. CAM guidance is hit and miss with this feature
regarding its ability to generate rainfall in Georgia. However it
should provide some weak lift, and with ample mid-level moisture in
place some precipitation chances are warranted across eastern
Georgia. We bumped up rain chances (from the base NBM guidance) into
the 15 to 35% range, with the highest chances expected during the
afternoon. A low degree of instability suggests that lightning is
unlikely on Sunday. Rain totals don`t look overly impressive, likely
less than 0.20 inches. For western and northern Georgia dry weather
is expected on Sunday.

Confidence in the temperature forecast for Sunday is high for
western Georgia, where sunshine and rising heights should allow
temperatures to approach 80 degrees. Greater uncertainty in the high
temperature forecast exists for eastern (particularly east central)
Georgia where cloud clover and light rainfall could limit afternoon
highs to the low 70s. If rainfall holds off until the evening or
doesn`t occur then highs could find there way into the upper 70s.

.LONG TERM...
(Monday morning through next Friday)
Issued at 856 PM EDT Sat Oct 11 2025

Any meaningful rainfall across North and Central GA appears unlikely
over the next 7 days. Mid to upper troughing will be lifting
northeastward along the East Coast, with broad ridging taking up
residence across much of the Central US and stick around through
much of next week. Daytime highs will range from the upper 70s to
the mid 80s from Monday to Friday. Expect temperatures to be 5-10
degrees cooler in the northeast GA mountains. Overnight temperatures
remain on the cooler side with values in the 50s (40s in the
mountains). Given the lack of rainfall in the long term forecast,
drought conditions are likely to remain the same or worsen.

.AVIATION...
(00Z TAFS)
Issued at 856 PM EDT Sat Oct 11 2025

VFR conditions are expected to persist through the period in north
and west Georgia. MVFR between 020-030 ceilings may be possible
at times in areas south and east of MCN overnight and into Sunday
afternoon. Isolated light rain showers remain possible in east
Georgia, but chances appear to be too low to warrant mention in
the MCN/AHN TAFs at this time. Winds will be NE at 4-7 kts this
evening, decreasing to 4 kts or less after midnight. Winds are
then forecast to shift to NW by 07-08Z and increase to 5-10 kts by
mid-morning.

//ATL Confidence...00Z Update...
High confidence on all elements.
