T INDICATES TRACE AMOUNT. && THE CALENDAR YEAR 2024 AT THE FARGO HECTOR INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT WAS NEAR NORMAL FOR PRECIPITATION WITH A NEW RECORD FOR ANNUAL AVERAGE TEMPERATURES. HOWEVER, SNOWFALL FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR WAS WELL BELOW NORMAL. THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR THE YEAR WAS 47.6 DEGREES WHICH WAS 6.8 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. TEMPERATURES FOR THE YEAR STARTED AND REMAINED ABOVE NORMAL THROUGH THE YEAR WITH ONLY AUGUST NOT BEING AT LEAST 2.0 DEGREES ABOVE AVERAGE. 2024 ENDED UP AS THE WARMEST YEAR ON RECORD BEATING THE OLD RECORD OF 46.7 SET IN 2016. PRECIPITATION FOR THE YEAR WAS 21.17 INCHES WHICH IS 0.08 INCHES BELOW NORMAL. JANUARY THROUGH MARCH SAW BELOW NORMAL PRECIPITATION THEN THE PATTERN SWITCHED AND WETTER CONDITIONS PERSISTED THROUGH THE SPRING SEASON. THE WET TREND STARTED TO REVERSE AS JULY SAW REDUCED RAINFALL WITH SEPTEMBER ONWARDS SEEING NEAR NORMAL PRECIPITATION ON AVERAGE. OVERALL THE ABOVE AVERAGE SPRING BALANCED OUT THE OTHERWISE DRY YEAR. TOTAL SNOWFALL FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR WAS WELL BELOW NORMAL. THERE WAS 22.3 INCHES OF SNOW WHICH IS 18.9 INCHES BELOW NORMAL. NO SINGLE MONTH SAW ABOVE AVERAGE SNOWFALL AND AS SUCH THE CALENDAR YEAR ENDED UP AS THE NINTH LEAST SNOWY YEAR ON RECORD. REMEMBER...THIS DATA IS PROVISIONAL AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE.
