Cause of the fire is under investigation. As of late evening on March 5th the fire was estimated to have burned 284 acres and was listed at 100% contained. After crews assessed the area, it was determined that 1 residential structure and 4 outbuildings were lost. 0230 PM Wildfire 7 NNW Leming 29.16N 98.53W 03/04/2025 Bexar TX Park/Forest Srvc *** 2 INJ *** Update on acreage, containment, and structures lost: The Duke Fire started started on March 4th in south Bexar County during a period of extreme fire risk due to low humidity and extremely high winds. Cause of the fire in under investigation. As of late evening on March 5th the fire was estimated to have burned 244 acres and was listed at 100% contained. At this time there have been two firefighters who were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. After crews assessed the area, it was determined that 45 total structures were lost: 13 residential structures and 32 outbuildings. 0300 PM Wildfire 3 WNW Mountain City 30.05N 97.94W 03/04/2025 Hays TX Park/Forest Srvc Update to acreage and containment: The Onion Creek Fire started on March 4th in eastern Hays County during a period of extreme fire risk due to low humidity and extremely high winds. Cause of the fire under investigation. As of late evening on March 5th the fire was estimated to have burned 190 acres acres and was listed at 85% contained. 0300 PM Wildfire 4 W Johnson City 30.27N 98.48W 03/04/2025 Blanco TX Park/Forest Srvc Update to acreage and containment: The Klett Fire started started on March 4th in western Blanco County during a period of extreme fire risk due to low humidity and extremely high winds. Cause of the fire is under investigation. As of late evening on March 5th the fire was estimated to have burned 101 acres and was listed at 95% contained. && $$
