.DISCUSSION...
Southeasterly winds will keep humidities above 40 percent for the
rest of today, and there is a low chance for wetting rain this
afternoon through midday Monday. A few streamer showers are
possible over the Highway 77 corridor this afternoon, but the
better chances for wetting rain comes tonight into Monday as a
cold front moves west to east across South Central Texas. The best
chances reside over the northern half of the area, and wetting
rains are unlikely over much of the southern part of Rio Grande
Plains. Drier air moves in behind the front with a potential of
near critical fire weather conditions Monday afternoon over mainly
the western counties. Elevated to near critical conditions are
possible Tuesday and again early Wednesday as dry gusty winds
continue and get reinforced with another cold front. Dry air is
expected to remain over the area for much of next week, possibly
leading to additional elevated fire weather concerns later in the
week.
