.DISCUSSION...
Despite spotty showers the past couple of days, the lack of
significant rainfall over the past month for most locations has led
to flash drought conditions. A few spotty showers may continue
through this evening along the Rio Grande, otherwise expect for rain
free conditions through the upcoming week. The dry conditions, along
with low afternoon humidity, especially Friday and Saturday, will
continue to promote the drying of fuels across the region. Minimum
RH values will range between 25 to 40 percent during majority of the
week outside from Friday and Saturday where the values fall closer
to the 20 to 30 percent range. Despite the relatively light wind
speeds, elevated fire weather conditions will be possible over the
next several days, especially near and east of the I-35 corridor
where fuels are more drought stressed.
