The National Weather Service in El Paso has issued a

* Dust Storm Warning for...
  Southeastern Grant County in southwestern New Mexico...
  South central Sierra County in south central New Mexico...
  Luna County in southwestern New Mexico...
  Southwestern Dona Ana County in south central New Mexico...

* Until 800 PM MDT.

* At 305 PM MDT, an area of blowing dust was over Hachita.

  HAZARD...Near zero visibility with strong winds up to 50 mph.

  SOURCE...Law enforcement.

  IMPACT...Dangerous life-threatening travel.

* This includes Interstate 10 in New Mexico between mile markers 36
  and 123.

Locations impacted include...
Spring Canyon State Park, Nutt, Macho Springs Wind Farm, Camel
Mountain, Carzalia Valley, Sunshine, Separ, Mount Riley, Aden Crater,
Cookes Peak, Hachita, Akela, Hermanas, Kilbourne Hole, Gage,
Columbus, Rock Hound State Park, Uvas Valley, Camp Ramsey, and
Deming.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Dust storms are unhealthy and have been known to lead to Valley
Fever. Avoid outdoor exposure.

Dust storms lead to dangerous driving conditions with visibility
reduced to near zero. If driving, avoid dust storms if possible. If
caught in one, pull off the road, turn off your lights and keep your
foot off the brake.
