The National Weather Service in El Paso has issued a

* Dust Advisory for...
  Southwestern Otero County in south central New Mexico...
  Southeastern Dona Ana County in south central New Mexico...

* Until 500 PM MDT.

* At 358 PM MDT, a wall of blowing dust was along a line extending
  from , moving northwest at 40 mph.

  HAZARD...Less than one mile visibility with strong winds up to 40
           mph.

  SOURCE...Detected by National Weather Service meteorologists.

  IMPACT...Hazardous travel.

* This includes the following highways...
   Highway 70 in New Mexico between mile markers 164 and 173.
   Highway 54 in New Mexico between mile markers 3 and 25.

Locations impacted include...
Chaparral, White Sands Missile Range Main Post, McGregor Range Base,
Dona Ana Range Complex, Dripping Springs, Aguirre Springs, Portions
of Organ Mountains Desert Peaks National Monument, Soledad Canyon,
and San Augustin Pass.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Blowing dust brings reduced visibility, leading to dangerous driving
conditions. If driving, avoid blowing dust if possible. If caught in
dense blowing dust, pull off the road, turn off your lights and keep
your foot off the brake.
