Some slow development is still possible during the next day or two, and a short-lived tropical depression could form before the system moves west-northwestward over progressively cooler water by Monday night. * Formation chance through 48 hours...medium...50 percent. * Formation chance through 7 days...medium...50 percent. South of Southwestern Mexico: An area of low pressure could form several hundred miles offshore of southwestern Mexico late next week.
