A slow moving upper-level trough, approaching from the west, will
bring a second day of high winds and areas of blowing dust.
Although wind speeds are not expected to be as high, and
visibility reductions due to blowing dust are not expected to be
as severe, we will see conditions that will meet airport weather
warning criteria. Sustained winds from the west of 20 to 30 knots
with gusts to 40 knots are forecast during the afternoon. Blowing
dust is expected to develop with visibility dropping to 1 mile,
and possibly below. Winds are expected to fall below AWW criteria
by 9 pm Friday evening.
