.DISCUSSION...Gusty southerly winds will diminish and turn southeast
overnight into Monday morning. High pressure beneath relatively
clear skies will encourage cold overnight lows and a chilly start
to Monday morning. Winds will be mostly southerly and terrain
driven with daytime heating, lifting mixing heights above 3000
feet AGL. Overnight RH recoveries will still be >50-60% but
daytime mins will drop into the low to mid 30s. Southerly flow
will begin increasing again Tuesday ahead of a strong low pressure
system approaching the north coast. Rainfall will begin sometime
Wednesday morning for Lake County alongside strong southerly winds
gusting 35 to 45 mph along higher terrain. Periods of heavy
rainfall and elevated winds will continue through late Wednesday.
Snow levels will initially remain at 4000-5000 feet, but will drop
rapidly by late Wednesday-Thursday, in some areas as low as 1500
feet. Snowfall will likely be limited as available QPF winds down
after snow levels drop.
