FORTUNA DISPATCH-
DISCUSSION FOR FORTUNA DISPATCH
431 AM PST WED JAN 22 2025

DRY CONDITIONS ON THE RIDGES THIS MORNING ABOVE THE
INVERSION. THE INVERSION APPEARS TO BE MORE SHALLOW THAN YESTERDAY
MORNING, SITTING AROUND 1650-1700 FEET BASED ON OBSERVATIONS. RH
OF 20% OR LOWER IS WIDESPREAD ABOVE THE INVERSION, AND WILL LIKELY
STAY RATHER DRY FOR THE REST OF THE DAY. LOOK FOR SOME GUSTY
WINDS TO RETURN FRIDAY AND SATURDAY, AND EVEN INTO SUNDAY FOR
MUCH OF THE REST OF THE ENTIRE AREA, MORE ALONG THE COAST ON
FRIDAY AND FOR THE INTERIOR ON SATURDAY. ON FRIDAY, WE STILL STAND
A ROUGHLY 20-40% CHANCE OF HITTING GUSTS GREATER THAN 45 MPH
ALONG MOST OF THE COAST. ON SATURDAY AS CHANCES INCREASE FOR
STRONG WIND GUSTS IN THE INTERIOR, THERE IS A 60% CHANCE OF WIND
GUSTS GREATER THAN 45 MPH ON SATURDAY FOR CLEARLAKE IN LAKE COUNTY
(WITH MEAN MIN RH NEAR 25%). THERE IS A SLIGHT CHANCE OF
PRECIPITATION FOR CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN LAKE COUNTY LATE FRIDAY
NIGHT INTO SATURDAY MORNING, WITH PERHAPS UP TO HALF AN INCH OF
SNOWFALL FOR HIGHER ELEVATIONS. PRECIPITATION AMOUNTS, IF ANY,
WILL BE LIGHT, AND ALMOST CERTAINLY CONSIDERED NON-WETTING.
