...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT SOUTHEASTERN CLAY...SOUTHERN
RAY...WEST CENTRAL SALINE...LAFAYETTE AND CENTRAL JACKSON COUNTIES
THROUGH 1245 AM CDT...

At 1207 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms
along a line extending from near Independence to near Concordia. A
quick inch to inch and a half of rain is possible with these storms
in as little as 20 to 30 minutes. Movement was northeast at 15 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and torrential rainfall.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Kansas City, Independence, Lee`s Summit, Blue Springs, Raytown, Grain
Valley, Oak Grove, Odessa, Higginsville, Lexington, Sugar Creek,
Buckner, Concordia, Courtney, Orrick, Wellington, Lake Tapawingo,
Corder, Alma, and Sibley.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 70 in Missouri between mile markers 8 and 60.
 Interstate 470 between mile markers 12 and 16.
 Interstate 435 between mile markers 62 and 69.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
