National Weather Service Kansas City/Pleasant Hill MO
311 PM CDT Sat Oct 5 2024

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

.DISCUSSION...
Starting to see some locations reaching red flag conditions
in the expected areas in northwestern Missouri this afternoon and
will continue through 8 pm this evening. Starting to see the
relative humidity values reach 20-30 percent range, specifically
Atchison, Holt, Doniphan, and Nodaway counties. Winds have
increased across the area this afternoon from southwest with gusts
of 35-40 mph that will continue through the early evening. For
tomorrow while there will be significantly cooler temperatures
with approach of cold front there is still elevated fire weather
concern for Sunday given the drier airmass. However expect
northerly winds with gusts up to 20 mph tomorrow afternoon.
